Tattoos

Artist statement:

Born and raised in Hannover, Germany, traveled through Africa and Asia
before making her home in San Francisco.

Tanja Nixx started tattooing in 1993 and was hired at Lyle Tuttle Tattooing in
1995. She has been at the shop now for 9 year and is the proud owner of the
shop since 2001.

I love tattooing, because I get an instant gratification. I like to realize people’s
ideas and the fact they will look at my art everyday for the rest of their lives and
hopefully be happy with it. It is an exciting challenge to work on skin.

When I am not tattooing, I am either in my studio painting (www.tanjanixx.com)
or out with my dog “ Rooster”.
